My First Commissioned Work...

lol!! Well sort of...my Step Mother in Law asked me to make two Congratulations cards for her Niece who was being awarded the Baden Powell Award (the highest award you can get in Girl Guides). So I set to work and this is what I came up with...

This was the first one I made, the colours are Tempting Turquoise, Regal Rose & Certainly Celery. The paper I used for the background is from Petals & Paisleys, the flower is from the Petties kit (coloured with Regal Rose ink)as is the brad, and the Congratulations is from All Year Cheer (retired). I was pretty happy with this one and set off on creating the next...

Then I made this one - this was my attempt to incorporate some Guiding type colours, but when I showed Rick he said "Oh yeah, that's a good card for a man" so back to the drawing (or stamping) board I went... (Colours here are Ballet Blue, Night of Navy, and Bravo Burgundy stamp is from my new convention set Nice & Easy Notes)

Still trying to get some blue in there I made this one - it's a case of one Alisa Tilsner had on her blog. I just loved it when I saw it and had to make it. The colours are Old Olive, Certainly Celery and Bashful Blue. The tulip is from Garden Whimsy and the Congratulations is from Warmest Regards (retired). I used some of the Prints DS paper and some blue gingham ribbon. The problem with this one was, as much as I loved it, It just didn't suit a 16 year old girl - so back to the stamping board again...

And that's when I finally made the perfect congratulations card for Julie's Niece... It was inspired by a card Tash made for her Grandma for Mothers Day which I loved. The colours are Regal Rose, Rose Red and Pumpkin Pie. I've used the Rose Red Prints paper for the background, the word stamps are from Wonderful Favourites (which is a wonderful set I just purchased and is set to become a favourite!!!) except the Congratulations which is Warmest Regards again. The flower is from Looks Like Spring, the faux stitching is done with the white gel pen and there's a little bit of pumpkin pie ribbon to finish it of.

Julie arrived with an extra order for 1 more card for her sister to give! She loved all the cards but ended up picking cards 1, 2 & 4 - she didn't think the 'man' card was manly at all! and she really loved the custom made Niece card! I was left with the ancient tulip card...but I was so inspired by that beautiful colour combo that I made a Birthday card for my new team member Amanda...

Here I've used the Happy Happy Birthday wheel and Garden Whimsy. I 'rock n rolled' the butterfly in not quite navy. Ive used the Celery Prints DS paper, some celery brads and some Bashful Blue striped Grosgrain. Happy Birthday Amanda!

See I have been busy...but wait there's more! I've at least another 5 cards to show you - I'll put some more up tomorrow! Cheers for now, Kaz

Happy Birhday Mel...

The gorgeous Mel Hanlon had a birthday a few weeks back, this is the card I sent her...

The colours are Taken with Teal, Certainly Celery (Prints DS Paper) and Whisper White. The flowers and Chrystal brad are from the Pretties Kit. The big flower was colored with tinkering ink for a bit of a shimmer! The velour ribbon is from the flirty pack (retired). The greeting and little cupcakes are from Short & Sweet.

Here's another recent creation, this was for my cousin Jasmin's Baby Shower...

The stamp set is Swell News, the background is the petals wheel and the colours are Pretty in Pink, Cool Caribbean and Whisper White. The ribbon is from the flirty pack. Although everything on this card except the wheel is retired I thought it was cute and wanted to show you anyway! In case you didn't guess - she's having a girl!

Mothers Day...

Bit late I know, but here's a couple of Mothers day cards I made...

This one features some of the Prints DS Paper (from this month's promotion) in Certainly Celery. This card is actually a case of one that Shelli showed us at convention - I just changed the Sentiment and the colours. The stamps are from Brocade Basics and All Year Cheer (retired). The colours are Groovy Guava, Certainly Celery, and Confetti White. The ribbon is double stitched Groovy Guava and the pearls are from the the Pretties kit.

This one is a case one Marelle did - again I just changed the colours and sentiment. This is the Baroque Motifs set. The colours are Elegant Eggplant, Lavender Lace and Old Olive.

We had a lovely Mothers Day out at the Hunter Region Botanic Gardens. Here's a picture of 3 generations - My Mum, Breanna & I in front of one of the fountains at the Gardens...

Ive used the Rose Red prints DS paper from the sampler pad, some wide Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon, the tab, scallop, & circle punches, and a Chrystal brad from the Pretties kit.

Sorry It's been a While...

Sorry I haven't posted for a while, sadly my Aunt passed away suddenly and unexpectedly last week so I haven't felt much like doing anything. On top of that I've been away to Melbourne for work, so all in all its been a crappy couple of weeks.
On a much brighter note I can now show you one of the little gifts I sent my beautiful team members who couldn't make it to convention this year, Also, both Nerine and Natasha promoted to Supervisor last month - Well Done Girls!! They each got a card, an SU notepad , and a couple of magnets...

The card uses the new Hostess set From the Garden (isn't it just lovely), the background is the Weathered stamp, the colours are River Rock, Always Artichoke and Purely Pomegranate, the ribbon is double stitched Purely Pomegranate.
The little magnet bags are made with Medium Cello bags, the Priceless stamp set, Round punches and the scallop punch.

Another brighter note from the last couple of weeks is that Breanna started preschool! I was way harder on me than it was on her - she loves it!!! It was a fight to get her to leave when I picked her up! Here's a photo of her before her first day - I still cant believe how grown up she is...
