Happy 3rd Birthday Charli

We've had a lovely day out at Maitland Park today for my Friend Tanya's daughter Charli's 3rd Birthday. Breanna had a great time playing and is still on a sugar high!
Here's the card I made for Charli:

I'm giving that Petals and Paisleys DS paper a real run at the moment - I just love it! Here I've used it for the background (which is a great technique when you dont have much time!). The stamp set is Pretty Princess, its the first time I've used it! I purposely bought it last year to make Breanna's Birthday card with, and figured she'd be going to lots of other little girls parties so it should get lots of use! I water coloured the princess with Water Colour Wonder Crayons and Aqua Painter. The ribbons are turquoise grosgrain and pink organdy (which sadly is retired as of tomorrow).

Just For You Mel...

Ask and you shall receive! This is the bag tag I made last night for Mel to use at Convention. I'm so stoked that Mel is able to make it all the way from Katherine to be at Convention - I can't wait to catch up! Mel has just moved house, is about to go on her honeymoon, has been suffering with chronic tonsilitis, works full time, has a 2 yr old son and on top of all that is a fantastic hardworking SU! Demonstator!! She's Wonder woman!!! So I was more than happy to make this little gift for her...

As with mine (previous post) I've used the beautiful Petals & Paisleys DS papers with an On Board Chipboard tag, heart and "M" monogram. This time I couldn't resist adding the 'el' to spell out Mel! I've used the same ribbons (Flirty ribbon pack and 5/8" Celery Grosgrain), and a couple of die cut stickers too.
I'm really happy with this one too - hope you like it Mel!

Preparing for Convention !!

Yipee!! Only two weekends to go and I'll be on my way to Convention in Brisbane - WOO HOO!!
It's going to be so much fun! My friend Dannie is coming along and I can't wait to catch up with Mel and see my up line Sharon again!

I've been spending heaps of time working on my swaps, I have finally decided on all the designs I'm making and have put some into mass production. I have almost finished 20 card fronts using Wild About You, I have cut out 20 for a Time Well Spent design, I have completed 8 little gifts using Artfully Asian, and have done the prototype for an ATC using Bodacious Blooms!! I have been BUSY!!!

Well that all sounds great, and I so wish I could show you...but I can't! Sorry, they're under tight security until Convention time - I'll post them the day I leave! There is one thing I can show you in the meantime - I made this cute little bag-tag to take with me and put on my Convention bag (because everyone will have the same one!) so I know it's mine. Here I've used a Chipboard tag, heart and flower from On Board Accents covered with the beautiful Petals and Paisleys DS Papers (which are, I'm very happy to say, making a come back in the new Caty!), there's some ribbons from the Flirty ribbon pack, and celery wide grosgrain, and I used up a few of my left over die cut stickers from the Accents and Elements in the Spring Mini Caty.
I'm happy with how it turned out...what do you think?

Masculine Birthday Card...

I find making masculine cards really difficult, but have certainly improved since I got the set Lovely as a Tree, it makes it much easier! Here's a card I made for a friends birthday last week...

The colours are Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa and Old Olive. Stamp sets used were Lovely as a Tree, Weathered background and Everyday Flexible Phrases (for happy birthday). I also used some Hodgepodge Hardware, grosgrain ribbon and watercolour crayons and aqua painter.

So... What Have I Been Up To?

A few of you have asked what've been up to lately? Or more to the point why haven't I been updating my blog! Well there's no real excuse for it I'm afraid...what can I say, life has been very full down here in New South! I have been doing a bit of creating though, and while I definitely wouldn't go so far as to say I have my mojo back...but I'm getting closer!

Here's a few more pages of scrapbooking I've done of our Broome holiday last year. The photos are really bad, I'll have to find a better way to take them. Unfortunately I don't get the good direct light on the outdoor table down here, so I've been taking them on the concrete which is not the best look!

These feature mostly non SU! products, but I tell you what - I cant wait to get my hands on some of the new SU papers and textured cardstock coming out in the new Caty next month! (trust me its so worth the wait - just gorgeous!) Anyway here are some of my recent pages:

Going, Going, Gone... The Retired List

The retired list is out - and it's a big one! This means there's lots of new products on their way in the new 08/09 IB&C available from 1 April - YAY!!!
The downside to this is that lots of wonderful products are leaving us forever. I'm really going to miss the in-colours, terrific tulips, simple sketches and copper ink just to name a few.
You can view the list on the SU! customer homepage (see link below left) or click here. If there's anything on the list that you just cant live without, you have to order before 31st March - after that they are gone forever. Send me an email and I'd be more than happy to help you out. As a special offer I am including a mystery gift of retiring SU! product with every order that mentions this post.

My First NSW Workshop!

YAY!! I did my first NSW workshop last week - it was great, I had a lovely night and I think the ladies did too. The hostess was a long time family friend - Hi Veronica, thanks so much for hosting a wonderful evening.
I thought I'd show you the projects we made - a bag-a-lope and 2 cards. As it was Sale-a-bration I focused on those sets and some of the new ones in the Summer Mini. Here they are:

The bag-a-lope uses the Basics wheel and Bud Basics stamp set from the Summer Mini. I used the colour combo from my SAB swap card (cause I love it sooo much!) - Chocolate Chip, Rose Red and Almost Amethyst. The tag stamp is SAB set Lots of Thoughts.

This card uses the Merci SAB set - so cute and whimsical. Here we used the Brayer and Celebration Spectrum pad for the background - very bright and cheerful!

The last card I couldn't resist doing - I'm absolutely in love with Carte Postale and French Flair (Summer Mini). Its very similar to a card I've posted previously as it was my inspiration but I made a few subtle changes. The colour combo (Pale Plum, Perfect Plum & Mellow Moss) was a big hit with the ladies.

Sale-a-bration Swap

Hi everyone, long time no blog! Here's a card I made for a sale-a-bration swap with some very lovey girls who all made beautiful cards - I just love swaps, its so much fun getting all the beautiful cards in the mail! Anyway here's my offering:

The SAB sets I used are Friendship Flowers and Lots of Thoughts. The colours are Almost Amethyst, Rose Red, Chocolate Chip and So Saffron. I've use the gorgeous wide grosgrain ribbon from the Summer Mini caty, the tag punch, some hodgepodge hardware and some dazzling diamonds glitter. I was really happy with how this one turned out - nothing like what I had planned! I hope all the girls liked it too.
